When the Lights Go Out (Behind the Scenes)
We filmed for 9 hours yesterday and got the first episode of “When the Lights Go Out” filmed! It was a super long day and it was super cold but it was AMAZING. My cast and crew are simply the best! Here’s a few pics of behind the scenes and an unedited video.
Since I didn’t have time yesterday, I’m watching something today and will post it late tonight or tomorrow morning. Yay, Happy Monday, y’all!

Awww, E! 🙂 Thank you!! It makes me uber happy too. I am like bouncing off the walls, five year old on pixie sticks, in love with everything kind of happy, lol.

Aw, thanks Nafees! *blushes* 😉 And yes, it is super fun! 🙂

VERY COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks!!! 🙂 It was a BLAST!!
Thanks for sharing all the cool pics and the Vid! Can’t wait to see the finished product. Looks like it’s gonna rock! Looks like you are having all kinds of fun. That is what is important! 🙂 Muy Bueno.
Thank YOU for checking them out! And for the support! And yes, SO much fun. I so love this stuff. And I’m filming a different web series this upcoming weekend – yay! 😉
Brings back memories of college. These shoots can be a lot of fun, time consuming, tiring, but pretty fun. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for reading (looking?)! 🙂 They’re definitely all of the above!
Looking COOL AS DRIVE here Misty! Congrats 😛
Whoa – high praise coming from you, Ty! Thanks! :-p
where are you shooting?
It’s the basement of one of my friends’ parents’ house. It got flooded during a hurricane and so all the walls are ripped out which was perfect for what we needed. The outside shot was…I don’t know, some state park here in Jersey.
oh, didn’t know you were in jersey. i’m down near philly but also have a place near atlantic city. looking forward to your work.
Oh cool! I keep hearing that I need to visit Philly (and Atlantic City – three years in this state and I still haven’t been). And thanks!
well, i’ll assume you’re kind of busy then. and since you’re making a film, and since i’m a writer of fiction and also film reviews, i would be glad to take a look at what you’re working on in case you’d like another set of eyes to peek at it. some of my reviews are here: http://cinekatz.com/ and here: http://cinekatz.com/author/rich/
I work 6 jobs and do acting, modeling and writing on the side – I am ALWAYS busy, lol.
And thank you! I might take you up on that – I’m terrible at the actual formatting of scripts. I still have to write the next 4 episodes but I definitely might send them your way for review if you’re sure you have the time. And cool – I think I’ve looked at that site before, didn’t know it was you though. 🙂
i’m just one of many, but what i like doing is reviewing stories to see where things might be missing or something interesting might be added. i realize that sounds kind of pretentious, but teaching writing is what i’ve been doing for about 25 years until recently stepping down to just do my own writing.
That sounds awesome. I’ve always just written, since I was 7 and I SUCK at editing. Until this year, I never did it. I’m part of a writer’s group (or was, I haven’t been able to attend in months because I’ve actually been too busy..writing…ironic…) and I really appreciate some honest feedback. It’s been really good for me, a learning process.
it’s commonly known by those who are in my writing network that my strength is with dialogue.
since you’re working 6 jobs and rather busy, i’ll stop replying and let you get things done. feel free to get in touch if you’d like me to read over something. i’d enjoy it a lot.
I will! Thanks again, Rich! 🙂
Congrats! Hope it came out the way you wanted!
Thank you! And we shall see. It won’t be edited till after the end of the month because our editor is finishing up her senior thesis. 🙂
I wanna see! I wanna see!
Yay!!!! You guys will be some of the first to know when it’s up and I’ll also let you all know when the fan page/Twitter/etc. go up. And you’ll probably be getting sneak peeks. Thanks for your enthusiasm! 🙂
NEED TO SEE THIS!
I love the way you talk to that silly ghost! 😀
Silly ghost, indeed! 😉 Thanks for the excitement, Catalin!! 🙂 SUPERBABY!!!
SUPERBABY, YEAH!
Preeeeetttty sweet. Looks like the kind of stuff I’d rather be doing as opposed to my actual job. Digging the video, too. The basement you shot in feels a lot more open and giant than what it is. Dunno if that’s what you’re going for or not, but I was wondering what huge ass place let you shoot inside it.
Thanks, Sir Phobos! Yeah, this is totally the stuff I’d rather be doing the majority of the time – getting there…baby steps. 🙂 And no, lol we’re actually trying to go smaller but we shot in different areas for different people’s apartments. The basement is HUGE though. It’s one of my friends’ parents’ basements and you could seriously convert it into like two apartments. It’s insane.
Holy crap, how big is the whole house?
Two floors plus the basement? It’s fairly large but I’ve seen much larger…
I guess I’m just used to my 2 bedroom apartment.
The house I’m currently in is much smaller so it is impressive how big some people’s houses are. Growing up though my best friend lived in a castle – no really a pepto bismol pink castle, lol – so it’s kind of just eh, you’re house is big, let’s not get lost sort of thing. 😉
Well, I’m glad I didn’t live in a Pepto Bismol castle. Or maybe I regret not living in one? I’m not sure which.
While the colour was unfortunate the castle itself was super fun. They built the castle part around their regular house and we used to climb up on the roof to look at the stars. 🙂
That is pretty bad ass. I would have rappelled down one of the buttresses.
*giggles* Omg, why did we never do that??
